Welcome Message from the Organizing Committee

The NUMISHEET conferences have been established as a world-class forum in the field of the numerical modelling of sheet metal forming processes. They offer to scientists, software developers and industrial users a platform through which new numerical methods, new material descriptions as well as new forming technologies and their numerical models can be exchanged.

The necessity of the global CO₂-reduction will make a weight reduction of the vehicles indispensable. To reach this a reduction of the body weight is indispensable. The application of new materials like TRIP and TWIP steels, the use of new fabrication methods like the press hardening or new tasks like numerical optimization and virtual robustness analysis are the challenges for the future.

The NUMISHEET specific industrial benchmarks give the opportunity to link the focus on new future technologies and to compare the quality of the numerical results with experiments.

250 participants from Europe, USA, Asia and Australia attended NUMISHEET 2008. NUMISHEET 2011 will take place in Korea.
